In spite of the coronavirus, we can still explore and visit two wonderful countries in South and Central America during the August 27 Travel Talks.
In the initial 20 minute video, we’ll travel to Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands and Amazon based on travel during November and December 2016. Seven days were spent on the vessel, shown below, as it went from island to island. Naturally, with Dick Voelker’s camera, you can expect to see a wide range of colorful birds, flowers and wildlife as well as lodging facilities in the remote areas. Following his return from the Amazon, Dick hired a private guide for four days to wander through the Mindo and Tandayapa areas to photograph some truly exotic birds and unusual wildlife.
After Ecuador, we’ll visit Panama (January 2018) and show a 15 minute video of wildlife in the area. The variety of subjects on this trip continued to fascinate with color and adventure.
Other TVIH folks that have had travels to Ecuador and Panama are cordially invited to show their photos and videos during this Zoom meeting.
For September, Travel Talks is pleased to have Kathy and Mike O’Rourke and Jane and Kim Sherman give a presentation on their visit to CROATIA in 2019. They visited many cities and villages including the the historic Dubrovnik. The date of this Travel Talk has yet to be determined.
In October, we’ll have a description of travels, including videos from a variety of locations including: a visit to Utah National Parks; Hiking in Death Valley, CA; Grounds for Sculpture, NJ and more.
And for November, there is on-going negotiations for a presentation by two TVIH members on their experiences of living in Japan.
