TVIH Talk is a program for our members to get to know one another by learning about fellow TVIH members’ life stories, past careers, and community volunteer work.
In today’s program, TVIH members who are first generation immigrants will share their stories.
Each speaker will tell us her/his journey of hardships and joy in becoming a US citizen. Immigrants often have to leave loved ones back at home, learn a new language, live in a new environment, and work harder. How did they cope when they were perceived as outsiders and different? When they returned to their birth countries to visit, did they feel that they belonged there? Each speaker will tell us how they have eventually realized their “American dreams”.
