What is this?
For the past few years, Bill Levine has visited Sichuan, China, in January and June and stayed for 2-4 weeks each time. Specifically, in Chongqing, he worked with a robotic research group at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and in Chengdu he works with a private startup company on the same problems. His activities are those of a minor executive—working and eating with his colleagues, meetings (and invitations to their homes) with wealthy (venture capitalists) individuals and government officials, and some tourism. He will talk about and show pictures from all of these experiences—eating, socializing, people’s homes, and a little tourism. This should give a sense of how people very similar to us live in Sichuan.
6:00 - 6:45 Potluck Dinner. Coffee, tea, water paper plates and plastic utensils will be provided. Please bring a dish that will serve 6.
Food Theme: Chinese If your last name starts with A to L, bring fruits or desserts
If your last name starts with M to S, bring a meat or fish dish
If your last name starts with T to Z, bring vegetables, salad, rice or pasta.
This is the 29th monthly meeting of the TVIH Travel Group. All members are welcome to join us. Please bring a friend. There is no fee to participate.
