Interviewer: Cathy Latham
Today's topic: Video memoir of Bob Ginsburg, a TVIH member
In Bob's own words:
"I could describe myself as a hyperactive thrill-seeker who skied on snow covered crevassed glaciers, was slowly chased by a mildly curious Mama bear. (If she had been mildly furious she wouldn't have been slow). Jumped out of a perfectly flying plane 5 times, de-activated live explosive charges eleven times, been showered by explosion powered duckpin-bowling ball sized rocks.
That was before I was married and brought my unsuspecting bride to the brand new state of Alaska to start our lives together.
I settled down eventually, and we managed to raise our sons who have become good men.
We have skied, sailed, snorkeled together. From Upstate New York state over the years to Vermont, Utah, Colorado, Florida, Puerto Rico, Canada."
This is a TVIH program on Zoom, modeled after the popular NPR program, Storycorps. A TVIH member is interviewed in a 30 min. session. The interview is recorded by a video camera.
Registrants of this Good Morning Howard Session and the person interviewed will watch the recorded interview together on Zoom. After viewing the interview, 20 minutes will be available for a Q&A session and discussions.
We have to remember that our Memoir speakers aren’t speaking for us, but for future generations, telling the parts of life they want to be sure gets passed on.
