Live Performances Pod: Columbia Jazz Band, "Woodchopper’s Ball and the Thundering Herds"
General Information:
The Live Performances Pod is open to any member of TVIH. Our primary purpose is to connect with other people to enjoy local arts and culture in person. You will need to purchase your own ticket from each Event's venue. The pod schedule is based on each event's date and time.
It is necessary to be on the email list to find out about the performances and to find out who else is going. We may want to have a meal or happy hour before or after each performance.
Join us on January 30 for the music of Woody Herman and his Thundering Herds.
While many big band aficionados instantly recognize the Isham Jones hit Woodchopper’s Ball, did you know that Isham Jones had a band that went along with that hit? More importantly, did you know that Woody Herman took that band and created an ensemble that included some of the biggest names in jazz?
TVIH members socialize together at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center pre-concert for Happy Hour. Bring snacks and beverages. TVIH Members get tickets directly on the website at columbiaorchestra.org which cost $20.
