TVIH members, Ron Putz and Marie Grunwell, would like to encourage their TVIH friends to write down their life’s stories for the benefit of their children, grandchildren, and friends.
Ron and Marie will bring the finished copies of their memoirs to show us. They will tell us the process of gathering material, organizing content, writing, re-writing, and how they finally finished their projects by the deadlines.
Why did Ron decide on taking up the memoir/family history writing project?
"The first is to assure that our five grown children/eight grandchildren know and appreciate the impressive legacy of their grandmother: a wife, a mother, a pharmacist, a musician, a mentor. Next, I had boxes of memoirs/scrapbooks, photographs, and my notebook calendars for 40 years.
You always need a “Due date,” to assure that you get it done on time. Mine was our yearly 4th of July birthday bash that I promised to hand out to all.
Lastly, if not me, who would be in a better position to provide the history, the stories, the love. This was also on my bucket list, as I am not getting any younger.”
