About this event

“Souvenir” is a play at Rep Stage, a professional regional theatre, based at Howard Community College.  Florence Foster Jenkins was a famous society eccentric who believed she was a great soprano when she was incapable of producing two notes in tune. Nevertheless, her annual recitals of her terrible singing brought her fame and climaxed at a 1944 Carnegie Hall sold out concert. Both hilarious and poignant, the story is told thru her accompanist Cosme McMoon. (The recent movie based on this story starred Meryl Streep.)
