Join us on a trip to historic Frederick, MD, west of Columbia and Howard County. Frederick has many clustered spires and other historic houses of worship within walking distance of each other. The churches are decorated for the season and are very beautiful. The tour includes visiting each church to enjoy the musical presentations that vary from one church to the other. There are opportunities to enjoy organ music at numerous churches, choirs at St. John Roman Catholic Church, bells at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, harps at Calvary United Methodist Church, and many more.
This is a self-guided walking tour in which you can tour up to 11 locations. Visitors are usually able to visit 9 churches, but entirely up to each individual’s pace. Brochures with a map of the churches, description of the programs, pictures of stained glass windows, parking directions, and directions to Frederick will be handed out to everyone when we gather for carpooling.
We will meet at the TVIH Center at 3:00 PM to carpool. WE DEFINITELY NEED DRIVERS. Please contact Karol Hess at karol@karolhess.com or 410-294-5587 if you are willing to drive. After dinner at 8:30 PM, we will leave Frederick, arriving at TVIH Center approximately 9:15 to 9:30 PM.
There is no charge for the tour. Members pay for own dinner charges.
