50/50 RAFFLE DRAWING - SAT. MAY 4th - TVIH OFFICE Purchase Tickets
This Teach & Taste will present wines made from items other than grapes. Apples, honey and rice have been made into wine for thousands of years. We will explore apple ciders, meads and sakes. Participants will taste two ciders, two meads and two sakes. These wine types will be paired with food.
Ciders were the first alcoholic beverages made by the colonists when they came to the new world. It is believed that mead was the first alcoholic beverage, predating grape wine. We will taste two different meads and a third mead that Terry and Kathy made in 2008. You can judge if mead can age. Premium sake drinks like a white wine. Only about 20% of sake sold in the United States is premium. We will taste two premium sakes from the same producer and discover the differences between them.
This Teach & Taste will follow our new format. Appetizers will pair with the wines. Seating is limited to 12.
