Discussion Topic of the week: Voting in a pandemic.

How should we develop a voting system that is safe and inclusive for our pandemic time and the future?

Also to have an additional topic that is more fun "What have you added or included on a bucket list as the result of the pandemic?"

Gov. Hogan has proposed an election with both mail in and in person voting. Is this the best plan?  How would you grade the Governor on handling the pandemic?

Homework:

WBUR “On Point” program about The Transition Integrity Project, which was established to help defend against the possibility that Trump will try to invalidate the election if he loses.

Did the president mean it when he told Chris Wallace of Fox News he might or might not accept the election results in November? What might happen if the results of the presidential election are contested? Former government officials from both parties held a “war game” to think through the consequences. We hear what they discovered.

Rosa Brooks, professor of constitutional and international law and national security at the Georgetown School of Law. Former Defense Department official. Co-founder of the Transition Integrity Project.

Ret. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell (2002-2005).  Adjunct professor of government and public policy at the College of William & Mary.
